1 Male Arrested and 1 Male Wanted in Relation to Weapon Charges in Niagara Falls

In November of 2024, detectives from the Niagara Regional Police Service 2 District (Niagara Falls/Niagara-on-the-Lake) Street Crime Unit began an investigation into a male believed to be in possession of a firearm in the City of Niagara Falls. 

As a result of the investigation, detectives were able to identify two suspects.

On November 26, 2024, with assistance from the NRPS Emergency Task Unit, one suspect was arrested. The suspect was found to be in possession of:

• a loaded Glock Handgun
• 29 grams of Fentanyl ($2000)
• 4.5 grams of Crystal Methamphetamine ($400)

Reshuan Smith-Boland (25 years) was arrested and charged with the following offences:

• Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Crystal Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of a Loaded, Regulated Firearm
• Possession of a Prohibited Device
• Careless Storage of a Firearm
• Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle
• Possession of a Restricted/Prohibited Weapon Knowingly not holding a License
• Fail to Comply with Prohibition Order 

Smith Boland was held in custody pending a bail hearing that is expected to take place on November 27, 2024, at the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse located at 59 Church Street in the City of St. Catharines.

On November 27, 2024, detectives with 2 District Street Crime Unit executed a Criminal Code search warrant in the area of Jepson Street and Victoria Avenue in the City of Niagara Falls. As a result, the following additional items were seized:

• a KelTec 9mm folding rifle
• 17.6 of Suspected Carfentanyl 

A second suspect Lamar Hamilton (34 years old) of Etobicoke, Ontario fled from police in a vehicle on November 26^th, 2024, and is currently wanted for the following charges:

• Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Crystal Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of a Loaded, Regulated Firearm
• Possession of a Prohibited Device
• Careless Storage of a Firearm
• Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle
• Possession of a Restricted/Prohibited Weapon knowingly not holding a License
• Fail to Comply with Prohibition Order 
• Flight from Police 
• Dangerous Operation
