On June 27th 2024, at approximately 6:07am, 2 District (Niagara Falls/Niagara-on-the-Lake) uniform officers with the Niagara Regional Police Service attended Headquarters located at 5700 Valleyway, in the City of Niagara Falls in response to a belated robbery.

Investigation revealed that between 2:15am and 2:30am,  a male adult victim and two male suspects were outside of a bar located at 5899 Main Street, Niagara Falls. While outside, one suspect pulled out a black pistol firearm and brandished it at the victim. This male demanded that he get into the vehicle, which the victim refused. Both suspects made attempts to push the victim into the vehicle while assaulting him at the same time however the victim was able to escape the suspects. Prior to the victim escaping, the suspects stole the victims jewelry.

The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries.

On July 10th, 2024, detectives executed a search warrant in the area of Culp Street and Drummond Road in the City of Niagara Falls and seized the following items:

  • 95.8 Grams of Powder Cocaine – estimated street value $9,600.
  • $1060 in Canadian Currency

Jared PATCHESON (22 years old) was arrested and charged with the following offences:

  • Robbery (Firearm)
  • Kidnapping
  • Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
  • Possess Schedule I Substance for Trafficking (Cocaine)

PATCHESON was held in custody pending a bail hearing that was expected to take place on July 11, 2024, at the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse located at 59 Church Street in the City of St. Catharines.

Detectives are still attempting to identify the second suspect and have reason to believe there were witnesses at the scene when the incident occurred. Detectives are looking to speak to these witnesses.
