Since June of 2024, detectives with the Child Abuse Unit with the Niagara Regional Police Service began an investigation into allegations of a sexual assault/sexual interference incident that occurred in the Region of Niagara.

Investigation revealed that a 48 year old female was in an intimate relationship with a 14 year old male.  The female is an Educational Assistant at St. Mary’s Catholic School, located at 120 Plymouth Road, in the City of Welland and is employed by the Niagara Catholic District School Board.  The male victim was previously a student of the suspect. The relationship is alleged to have lasted 3 months.

Tracy COLEMAN (48 years old) of Port Colborne was arrested and charged with the following offences:

  • Sexual Assault
  • Sexual Interference

Coleman was held in custody pending a bail hearing that is expected to take place on July 14, 2024 at the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse located at 59 Church Street in the City of St. Catharines.

Detectives have reason to believe there may be more victims.
