Update - Located

Chris has been located and is safe. The NRPS would like to thank the public and the media for their help in this matter.

We have removed their photo from the original media release and our social media.  We would ask the public and media to consider doing the same.

 

Original Release -

Officers from the 1 District – St. Catharines / Thorold office of the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) are searching for missing person Chris Leil.

Chris was last seen on December 24, 2024, at approximately 12:00pm, walking in the area of Merritt Street towards Glendale Avenue in the City of St. Catharines. Chris was reported missing on December 27, 2024, to the NRPS when his family did not hear from or see him again.

Chris is described as:

  • White male
  • 6’2 feet tall
  • Slim build
  • Grey hair
  • Beard

Chris was last seen possibly wearing:

  • Dark coloured sweater
  • Black backpack.

Chris has a medical condition that requires attention.

The police and Chris’ family are concerned for their welfare. Investigative efforts by NRPS detectives have been unable to locate him. Anyone who may have information as to Chris’ location are asked to contact NRPS “Dispatch” or detectives at 905-688-4111, option 3, extension 1009356.

Members of the public who wish to provide information anonymously can contact Crime Stoppers of Niagara online or by calling 1-800-222-8477.  Crime Stoppers offers cash rewards to persons who contact or the program with information which leads to an arrest.
