On July 5, 2024, at approximately 1:15pm, Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) detectives assigned to the 2 District (Niagara Falls / Niagara-on-the-Lake) Street Crime Unit, arrested an adult male and female outside a motel on Lundy’s Lane in the City of Niagara Falls.
Search incident to arrest resulted in the seizure of 25 grams of suspected cocaine, 154 grams of suspected fentanyl, 8.8 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine and over $1200 in Canadian currency believed to have been acquired through the proceeds of crime.
The estimated street value of the drugs seized is over $14 000.
48-year-old Michael Pereira is facing the following charges:
- Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of crystal methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of proceeds of crime
38-year-old Michelle Ferron of Niagara Falls is facing the following charges:
- Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking
Periera is currently being held in custody pending a bail hearing on Saturday July 6, 2024, at the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse in the City of St. Catharines.
Ferron was released on a Form 10 with a future court date.
