Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) 1 District (St. Catharines/Thorold) detectives in St. Catharines continue to investigate a Princess Ann Circle shooting incident.

The incident occurred January 9. 2025 at approximately 12:11pm inside a Princess Ann Circle home. The 24-year-old male victim is still in hospital in serious condition.

The unknown suspect is described as:

  • South Asian male
  • Blue winter toque
  • Dark jacket

Anyone (residents / business owners) who may have been in the area with cell phones, closed circuit video recording, or dash camera footage between 11:30am and 12:30pm on January 9, 2025, is asked to review their footage of the area and contact police if they see anything suspicious.

Original Release – January 9, 2025

On January 9, 2025, at 12:11pm our 1 District (St. Catharines/ Thorold) uniform officers responded to Princess Ann Circle in St. Catharines for a possible shooting. Officers arrived on scene and found a victim suffering from serious injuries. The victim was treated by Niagara Emergency Medical Services paramedics and transported to an out of region hospital.

Officers then attended a home on Princess Ann Circle which was determined to be the scene. Officers from the NRPS Emergency Task Unit and K9 Unit conducted a track in the area but were not able to find a suspect. No suspect has been arrested.

1 District detectives have been assigned to the investigation. Detectives are developing a suspect description. Detectives from NRPS Forensic Services Unit are assisting in the investigation. The investigation is in its early stages. We will release further details at a later time.
