On Sunday, March 23, 2025, at approximately 6:45 p.m., Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) Uniform Officers assigned to 1 District (St. Catharines/Thorold), responded to a motor vehicle collision in the area of Welland Avenue and Niagara Street in the City of St. Catharines.

Initial investigation determined that a beige SUV was traveling westbound on Welland Avenue, ahead of a black pickup truck. Both vehicles stopped for a red light at the intersection of Welland Avenue and Niagara Street in the City of St. Catharines. While stopped, the black pickup truck accelerated into the rear of the beige SUV and continued to propel the vehicle through the intersection, narrowly missing other vehicles, and further down Welland Avenue. The black pickup truck then fled the scene without stopping.

The black pickup truck is described as follows:

  • Black Ford F150
  • Two door pickup truck

The driver of the truck is described as follows:

  • White female
  • Blonde hair

There were no reported injuries as a result of this incident.

Police are urging the driver of the black pickup truck to come forward. Anyone who can assist with identifying the driver of the black pickup truck is asked to contact the investigating officer by calling 905-688-4111, option 3, extension 1009503.
