Detectives from the Niagara Regional Police Service 1 District (St. Catharines/Thorold) office have been actively investigating this matter since it occurred on April 16, 2025.
As a result of the investigation, a suspect was identified. On April 18, 2025, 1 District uniform officers located the suspect in the area of Fourth Avenue and Louth Street in the City of St. Catharines. The suspect was placed under arrest. At the time of his arrest, officers located and seized clothing worn by the suspect at the time of the offence, along with a firearm.
Jeffrey Allan Legros, 50, of St. Catharines has been charged with the following Criminal Code offences:
- Robbery with a firearm
- Pointing a firearm
- Use of a firearm during the commission of an offence
- Possession of a firearm while prohibited
- Failing to comply with probation
Legros was held in custody for a video bail hearing at the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse in St. Catharines on April 19, 2025.
