MISSING PERSON – NRPS in Niagara Falls are Searching for 68-Year-Old Woman - Update - PHOTO

Detectives from the 2 District – Niagara Falls/Niagara on the Lake office of the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) are searching for missing person Galextra Kavanaugh. Galextra also goes by the name of Selma Paul.

As a result of the continued investigation detectives were able to determine Galextra was last seen on foot on Monday, May 27, 2024, at approximately 2:32pm, northbound on Victoria Avenue at Valley Way, in Niagara Falls.

8 District Detectives Investigating Damaged Speed Cameras

On May 28, 2024 at 11:57am, 8 District (Grimsby/Lincoln) uniform officers with the Niagara Regional Police Service, were on routine patrol in the area of Townline Road and Township of West Lincoln, when they observed that the Regional Speed Enforcement Camera located on the north side of the road was laying on the ground.

Update in Homicide Cold Case - Gurczenski

Following an extensive investigation, the Niagara Regional Police Service is now able to provide an update on a homicide cold case investigation.

On Saturday May 8, 1999, at approximately 5pm, uniform officers responded to the area of Victoria Avenue near Eighth Avenue in the Town of Lincoln, following reports of a partially dressed woman’s body in a roadside ditch.

The Niagara Regional Police Service would like to warn the public about a Facebook Marketplace Scam that has been on the rise. 
Detectives have received information that fake sellers on Facebook Marketplace are posting items for sale on a fake Facebook account however they are asking the buyers for an e-transfer as a deposit before receiving the item.
