Grimsby Shooting Incident Leads to Multiple Weapon Charges

On May 18, 2024 at approximately 6:00pm, 8 District (Grimsby/Lincoln/West Lincoln) uniform officers responded to reports of a shooting at a home in the area of Livingston Avenue and Roberts Road in Grimsby.  

Investigation revealed an adult male was brought to an area hospital for injuries consistent with having been shot.  He was released a short time later with non-life-threatening injuries. 

Further investigation then revealed that the injuries suffered were the result of an accidental misfire.

Welland Officers Investigating Multiple Property Damage Calls

On Saturday May 18 2024, at approximately 7:40am, 3 District (Welland/Pelham) uniform officers with the Niagara Regional Police Service attended the area of Bradley Avenue and Sauer Avenue in the City of Welland in response to a property damage call.

Investigation revealed that between the hours of 1:00am and 2:00am, unknown suspects damaged multiple cars, street signs, and residences with spray paint. 

The damage consisted of hateful and vulgar language.

Two Impaired Arrests During Victoria Day Weekend R.I.D.E Campaign

On Friday, May 17th, 2024, members of the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) conducted R.I.D.E. spot checks in the Cities of Niagara Falls and Welland.

Throughout the night, officers stopped approximately 700 vehicles and inquired if any of the drivers had consumed any alcohol or drugs earlier in the evening.  In total, 16 drivers were required to provide a sample of their breath for analysis.
