Detectives from 1 District (St. Catharines/Thorold) continue to investigate the robbery that occurred on January 16, 2025, at Griffin Jewellery located inside the Pen Centre at 221 Glendale Avenue in the City of St. Catharines.

Detectives are distributing unconcealed images of the suspects prior to the robbery, seeking assistance in identifying them.

On January 10, 2025, detectives from the Niagara Regional Police Service Child Abuse Unit (CAU) began an investigation regarding an alleged assault of a student at a St. Catharines school.

On Monday, January 20, 2025, at approximately 11:00 a.m., 1 District (St. Catharines/Thorold) uniform officers from the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) responded to an Unwanted Person call in St. Catharines.

In January 2025, members of the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) started proactively attending cryptocurrency automated teller machine (ATM) locations to increase public awareness in the community in hope of reducing fraud.
