On Monday, April 29, 2024, at approximately 5:09am, officers attended the area of Centre Street and Harold Avenue, in the City of Welland in response to a theft in progress.

International Law Enforcement Tug of War at the Niagara Border

The Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) is pleased to announce that the International Law Enforcement Tug of War will be returning to the Niagara Rainbow Bridge on Saturday May 11, 2024.  

The NRPS men’s and women’s tug of war teams will meet up with their United States (US) law enforcement counterparts to battle on the border.  This will be the 56th year for this event.

Suspect Sought - Theft from Jewellery Store at Seaway Mall

On Sunday, April 28, 2024, at approximately 4:45pm, 3 District (Welland/Fonthill) uniform officers with the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) attended the People’s Jewellery Store, within the Seaway Mall located at 800 Niagara Street in the City of Welland, in response to a theft.

Saturday Night R.I.D.E in Niagara Falls

During the evening hours on Saturday April 27th, 2024, Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) 2 District  Niagara Falls/N-O-T-L “C” Platoon partnered with the Traffic Enforcement Unit to conducted a R.I.D.E. spot check in the City of Niagara Falls.

Throughout the night, officers stopped approximately 300 vehicles and inquired if any of the drivers had consumed any alcohol or drugs earlier in the evening.  In total, 20 drivers were required to provide a sample of their breath for analysis.

Weekend R.I.D.E. Campaign

On Friday, April 26, 2024, officers from the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) conducted R.I.D.E. spot checks in the City of Port Colborne and the City of St. Catharines.

Throughout the night, officers stopped approximately 400 vehicles and inquired if any of the drivers had consumed any alcohol or drugs earlier in the evening.
