On August 3, 2023, Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) detectives assigned to the 2 District (Niagara Falls/Niagara-on-the-Lake) Street Crime Unit received judicial authorization to execute a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a motel in Niagara Falls.

The Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) is currently investigating a series of theft from vehicles, property damage, frauds, and stolen vehicle calls for service occurring overnight in typically rural areas across the Niagara Region. The incidents have been reported in the municipalities of Grimsby, West Lincoln, Lincoln, Pelham, Wainfleet, and Niagara-on-the-Lake, and have been taking place primarily between the hours of 1:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m. since February 13, 2025.

Weekend R.I.D.E Results in Three Roadside Suspensions

On Saturday, February 22, 2025, members of the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) conducted R.I.D.E. spot checks in the Cities of Niagara Falls and St. Catharines.

On February 7, 2025, 1 District (St. Catharines/Thorold) uniform officers with the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) responded to a commercial break and enter related call for service in the area of Louth Street and Rykert Street in the City of St. Catharines.

Male Arrested and Charged with Break and Enter in St. Catharines

In December of 2024, detectives with 1 District Street Crime (St. Catharines/Thorold) with the Niagara Regional Police Service began an investigation into a break and enter that occurred in the area of Centre Street and Court Street in the City of St. Catharines.

Investigation revealed a male suspect had broken into an apartment at this location, stole a coin collection worth over $10,000 and left the residence.

As a result of the investigation, detectives were able to identify the male suspect.
