NRPS Sexual Assault Unit Investigating Incident on Transit Bus – Update 1 – ARREST

Detectives from the Niagara Regional Police Service Sexual Assault Unit have been actively investigating this matter.

Following the media release, a suspect was identified.  Detectives attended a home in St. Catharines and arrested a 16-year-old male.  The 16-year-old male from Niagara Falls has been charged with the following Criminal Code offence:

• Sexual assault

MISSING PERSON – NRPS in Niagara Falls are Searching for 37-Year-Old Woman

Officers from the 2 District – Niagara Falls/Niagara on the Lake office of the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) are searching for missing person Megan Kulchar.

Megan was last seen by family on April 17, 2025, at approximately 2:00pm in the area of her home near Margaret Street Hagar Avenue in Niagara Falls.  She left the area driving her car. 

Megan is described as:

• White female
• Approximately 115lbs. slender build
• 5’6 feet tall
• Hazel eyes, glasses
• Blonde long straight hair

NRPS and Office of the Fire Marshal Investigating Suspicious NOTL Fire

On April 16, 2025, at 4:39 a.m., emergency services personnel responded to a report of a house on fire in Niagara-on-the-Lake.

Uniform officers from 2 District (Niagara Falls/Niagara-on-the-Lake) of the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS), along with members of the Niagara-on-the-Lake Fire Service, attended a residence on the Niagara River Parkway between Line 8 Road and Line 6 Road. Human Trafficking Investigation Results in Arrest of a Welland Man

In January 2025, the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) Human Trafficking Unit (HTU) initiated a human trafficking investigation. The investigation focused on the alleged trafficking of a female over the age of 18 which occurred throughout the Region of Niagara.
