Detectives investigating fatal St. Catharines shooting UPDATE 1

Following further investigation, detectives have made an arrest in relation to this incident.

On Saturday November 23, 2024, at approximately 4pm, detectives arrested a male after several hours of negotiations at a home on Churchill Street.

47-year-old Daniel Dale Rosebush of St. Catharines is facing the following charges:

-       Second degree murder

-       Attempted murder

At approximately 1:40pm on Friday November 22, 2024, Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) 1 District (St. Catharines/Thorold) uniform officers responded to a call in the area of Division Street and Riordon Street in the City of St. Catharines, following reports of gunshots.

On Thursday November 21, 2024, at approximately 8:30pm, Niagara Regional Police responded to a sexual assault call for service at the Americana Resort located at 844 Lundy's Lane, Niagara Falls.

The investigation revealed that a male entered the women’s bathroom and sexually assaulted a female under the age of 16 in the City of Niagara Falls.
