NRPS member arrested following investigation in Niagara on the Lake

On August 5, 2024, the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) became aware of allegations involving a Uniform Constable employed with the NRPS, following a call for service at a home in the Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake.

In responding to the call for service, it was determined that an on-duty member of the NRPS had been involved in an altercation with a suspect.

As a result, the NRPS requested Hamilton Police Service to investigate the incident to eliminate any potential conflict of interest.

In January of 2023, 1 District (St. Catharines/Thorold) detectives with the Niagara Regional Police Service began an investigation on an industrial fire/explosion call that occurred at Ssonix Products located at 20 Keefer Road, in the City of St. Catharines.  This company treats both hazardous and non-hazardous chemical waste.

R.I.D.E - Niagara Falls and Thorold

On Friday, November 22, 2024, members of the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) conducted R.I.D.E. spot checks in the City of Niagara Falls and City of Thorold.

Throughout the night, officers stopped roughly 700 vehicles and inquired if any of the drivers had consumed any alcohol or drugs earlier in the evening. Detectives investigating fatal St. Catharines shooting UPDATE 1

Following further investigation, detectives have made an arrest in relation to this incident.

On Saturday November 23, 2024, at approximately 4pm, detectives arrested a male after several hours of negotiations at a home on Churchill Street.

47-year-old Daniel Dale Rosebush of St. Catharines is facing the following charges:
