NRPS Safety Clears Thorold School – Update 1 – UNFOUNDED

The investigation into this incident has been ongoing by 1 District officers from the Niagara Regional Police Service since it occurred.

The investigation has determined using closed-circuit cameras that no threat ever existed in the school as it was reported.

The matter is being closed as unfounded.

On July 24, 2024, 2 District (Niagara Falls/Niagara on the Lake) uniform officers with the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) responded to a report of suspicious circumstances at a Niagara on the Lake home.

On July 25, 2024, at 1:31pm 1 District (St. Catharines / Thorold) uniform officers from the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) responded for a report of a possible armed person in a school in Thorold.

In an effort to bring further attention and deterrence to driving while impaired by alcohol or drugs, the Niagara Regional Police Service will be reporting the names of those people who are charged with an alleged criminal impaired driving offence in the Region.
