The Niagara Regional Police Service has an officer working as a labour relations mediator. The Inspector assigned to this job is primarily responsible for receiving, investigating and determining resolutions for formal grievances and labour issues arising from the Niagara Region Police Association. Additional duties include oversight and management of Professional Development  and the Recruiting Unit.
